Would you feel comfortable reporting an incident of bullying or harassment?

Would you feel confident that the incident would be taken seriously and the appropriate action taken? Do you have concerns about the repercussions of sharing details of what’s happened? Or worry that you’ll be asked to recount your experience over and over again?

A study in the US found that almost 60% of all misconduct observed in the workplace is never reported for the reasons cited above and more. Whether it’s a fear of being believed or concerns about being labeled as a troublemaker, it has the potential to stop HR teams from finding out what is taking place.

This is something we’re committed to addressing through the following actions:

HR has been empowered to put people first
It doesn’t matter who has been accused of inappropriate behaviour, nor who made the report, HR has been commissioned to take every report received seriously. We will investigate fully and professionally to understand what has happened and take the most appropriate action to build a safe and happy workplace for everyone.

You can report anonymously
You don’t need to give your name to be taken seriously. While it’s harder to provide direct support or ascertain further details of what has happened, an anonymous report will help us to learn more about the culture and identify what action needs to be taken.

All reports will be treated confidentially
All reports are treated in the strictest of confidence even if you choose to give your name. HR has received training in how to handle the data you provide legally and sensitively as well as in how to support and protect you through the process.

We’ll let you know what action we take
It’s important you know your voice is heard. We update you through the process and make sure you know what outcomes have been taken. When the time is right, we will help the wider business understand the broader steps being taken to create positive change.

If you have questions about the process, please contact HR for more information. We are committed to creating an environment in which all employees feel safe and supported.
